Gentle Readers, tis the season for spiral-bound cookbooks, memories, and dips involving mayo. My family traditions are such that the major eating happens before Christmas, and as of the day, it’s a blur of leftovers and cookies. This year, added bonus, we’re hosting two special guests for the holiday.

Fresh from my family celebration, I plan to leverage containers and cunning over kitchen time.
Monday: Christmas Tapas
The tradition continues of each of us selecting our favorites and serving them. Doesn’t matter if they match or have any nutritional value. They’ll be on fancy plates and we’ll take our time.
Stir-fry perhaps, or maybe even takeout. We’ll do a blowout at breakfast, and then the season’s eatings are complete.
Wednesday: Salmon with green veg
As my guests are omnivorous, I will be adding more lean protein back to the menu this week.
Thursday: Pork Chops and Pierogie
If I feel adventurous, I may even make the pierogie from scratch.
Friday: Dine Out!
Field research in the house!
Easy end to a long week.
As you can see, I’m relying heavily canapes and kitchen work I’ve already done. This is a time to sit back, relax, and enjoy friends and family. Happy holidays from Team Practical Cook!
