Weekly Menus: Holiday Edition

Gentle Readers, tis the season for spiral-bound cookbooks, memories, and dips involving mayo. My family traditions are such that the major eating happens before Christmas, and as of the day, it’s a blur of leftovers and cookies. This year, added bonus, we’re hosting two special guests for the holiday.

My kind of buffet: cookie party!

Without further blah blah blah, here are the weekly menus:

And the Four-Square Grocery List:

Which all means:

Sunday: Leftovers
Fresh from my family celebration, I plan to leverage containers and cunning over kitchen time.

Spiral bound cookbooks: The best source for your mayo-based needs.

Monday: Christmas Tapas
The tradition continues of each of us selecting our favorites and serving them. Doesn’t matter if they match or have any nutritional value. They’ll be on fancy plates and we’ll take our time.

Tuesday: Chinese!
Stir-fry perhaps, or maybe even takeout. We’ll do a blowout at breakfast, and then the season’s eatings are complete.

Wednesday: Salmon with green veg
As my guests are omnivorous, I will be adding more lean protein back to the menu this week.

Thursday: Pork Chops and Pierogie
If I feel adventurous, I may even make the pierogie from scratch.

Friday: Dine Out!
Field research in the house!

Saturday: Leftovers
Easy end to a long week.

As you can see, I’m relying heavily canapes and kitchen work I’ve already done. This is a time to sit back, relax, and enjoy friends and family. Happy holidays from Team Practical Cook!
