Gentle Readers, if you are tired of turkey (or tofurkey), raise your hand. The Practical Cook is working on something loaf-like to blast through the remaining leftovers. This week is a return to some season fare, with heavy input from The Practical Cooks Junior, who also set the table and made their own breakfast. Rock on Juniors. If you’re trying to slap menus together quickly, crowdsource.
Without further preamble, this Week’s Weekly Menus:
Four-Square Grocery List:
And the translation thereof:
Sunday: Nachos with Avocado
Thanks to the Eldest Junior for this one. If we do Sunday dinner with friends, it will be a double batch!
Monday: Salmon Cakes and Squash
This is for the Youngest Junior. She loves salmon. A lot. Served with a side of winter squash to break things up from the yam sham we’ve been hosting.
Tuesday: Soup and Sammie
Read: clean out the rest of the leftovers.
Wednesday: Pasta with Sauce and Salad
Busy day planned, so I’m putting a Punt! on the menu. Thank you Trader Joe’s for your cheese tortellini, and summer for your basil from which I made pesto cubes.
Thursday: Beef and Noodles
I envision something stroganoffy here, with mushrooms and parsley, and a kick of paprika.
Friday: Leftover Surprise
Whatever is still standing gets used.
Saturday: Dine Out!
I feel some fried chicken research coming on.
